When you install it, choose only the VNC Viewer if given an option. You do not need to install the server.
The VNC connection can be reversed so your client hosts a server and the remote system then connects to it. The result is the same: the remote desktop appears in a window on the local system. Though our HKU network probably won't need it, it may be useful if there are firewall restrictions.
